I bought this to replace the iSi Twist 'n Sparkle which was recalled several months ago. I had done my research then, and had ruled out SodaStream - I didn't want another appliance sitting on the counter, and I liked that the iSi could carbonate liquids other than water. I had tasted the SodaStream flavors during a store demo, and knew I had no interest in any of them, I disliked the chemical taste, I'd much rather use real juice if I want flavor.As it turned out, I never did carbonate anything other than water. And I was miserable when the iSi was recalled, and regretted returning it.I discovered the SodaSparkle during a recent Amazon deal, and immediately read all I could, and figured I'd take a chance.I've been using it for a week, and it is great! It works quickly and easily, and though I laughed at needing to shake the bottle for five seconds, it really does make a difference! (Wish I had known that when I had the iSi!) I tried a couple of the flavors that were included, and was surprised that though I'm not a tonic fan, that one is really a winner, and great to keep for those times when you need a mixer. I haven't tried the Lychee yet, the others were okay. Didn't love them, but didn't rinse out the glass, either. But... I didn't purchase this for the flavors, and so consider it an easy way to try them.I also purchased the 1.0 Liter "Extra Sparkle" bottle and I'm so glad I did. There really is a difference, and it is perfect for those times when I want more fizz.What did surprise me is that the bottles don't go flat overnight! I shake the bottle once, and it is just as fizzy as when freshly made.As much as I loved the iSi and never had a problem with it, this system does feel a little bit safer, and the results are every bit as good.
