I was a long-time happy user of the SodaStream Pure. I had no complaints about it, but when the new SodaStream Source came out I was tempted by two things: the clean, modern design and the fact that bottles do not have to be screwed into the unit in order to carbonate the water. Having had the Source now for two months, I can say I am pleased with the appearance, but the design of the machine is fatally flawed.Inserting bottles into the unit, you clamp them down instead of screwing them in. Unfortunately, the unit does not make an airtight seal with any bottle. I have tried more than 10. After barely a few seconds of attempting to carbonate, the bottle begins leaking massive amounts of air and making a horrifically loud squealing noise. Once the air starts escaping, no gas goes into the water, so it is impossible to get more than the lightest fizz on this machine. It is a huge disappointment.Much as I hate to do it, I'll be pulling my old SodaStream Pure out of the basement and getting rid of the Source.

This is my second SodaStream and I like this one better than the Fountain Jet that still works fine. Other reviews have exhaustively covered the positives of the SodaStream system so I won't repeat them all here.Positives (compared to the Fountain Jet):- It takes a little less effort to operate- It is a little more aesthetically pleasingNegatives (minor):- The LED light did not accurately determine carbonation levels and stopped coming on after a few months. It still worked as a carbonator, however. SodaStream replaced my unit at no cost to me.- It only takes 60 liter carbonators. This is not a big problem because it was too hard to find replacements for the 130 liter carbonators at a reasonable price anyway.Using SodaStream flavors may or may not the least expensive way to drink soda but it does reduce waste on many levels and is more healthful than soda from the popular companies. Also, the more "healthy" soda makers (with Stevia and/or Splenda) tend to cost a whole lot more than SodaStream. Weighing in environmental and health costs, I believe it saves me money.Improvement Suggestions for Sodastream:1. Provide carbonators at convenience stores and grocery store chains.2. Provide a way to carbonate liquids besides water

I love how much less expensive it is then buying energy drinks. I would also comment that the soda stream energy drink mix taste pretty much like Red Bull. I also like being able to make club soda then mixing it with juices to make healthier drinks. Overall very happy I purchased this and plan to get a lot of use out of it!
